As a young girl in Hungary, Irene Weisberg Zisblatt
was taken by the Nazis to the Auschwitz-Birkenau
concentration camp. She experienced unspeakable
cruelty, lost her entire family to the gas chambers, and became one of Josef Mengele's guinea pigs. Somehow she survived; a testament to the triumph of the human spirit. She spoke about her life in Stephen Spielberg's documentary, The Last Days, and in her Pulitzer-nominated autobiography, The Fifth Diamond. She seeks to educate children, to rid the world of prejudice, intolerance, and indifference. See the documentary and then meet her in person.
